Brian's Priorities for Auburn Hills

Seniors & Veterans First,  Family Friendly, Smart Growth, Community Character

Seniors & Veterans First

These residents have given so much to our community, and deserve to be respected and honored:

· Support the relocation and enhancement of the Veteran’s/Mother’s memorial to Aaron Webster Cemetery.

· Support the senior meal, activity, and transportation programs.

· Support the development of affordable housing.

Family-Friendly

I've had the honor of raising a family in Auburn Hills and I want others to have the same opportunities:

  •  Support sidewalks & pathways, and social activities and events that foster a welcoming community spirit.
  •  Support Avondale and Pontiac schools including public-private partnerships with community businesses and non-profits

Smart Growth

With only 16 square miles of geography, it’s important that we develop and re-develop in a smart and balanced way.

  • Support re-development of unused buildings into good/useable spaces and local jobs for residents.
  • Develop and maintain ample parking for downtown business and activities, promote partnerships to share parking lots/spaces
  •  Work with SMART to improve services to residents and businesses; On-demand, micro-transit, accessible vans when more efficient than large buses.
  •  Complete the River Walk along the Clinton River between Riverside Park and River Woods Park

Community Character

Our community is unique. We are relatively small with 25,000+ residents, yet we are home to more than 40 international corporations all with diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds

  •  Our Look – Balance natural areas, trees, wetlands, parks, and trails with family-friendly neighborhoods and commercial/business developments.
  • Our Feel – Mantain the heart of a small town with world-class services - including police, fire, roads, economic development, parks, and community events.
  • Our Environment – Create “pollinator hill” upon closure of Oakland Heights/Brown Road landfill; Prioritize Clinton River water quality and flow; Protect wetlands to improve water quality, reduce flooding and protect wildlife habitat.
